Air France KLM Martinair Cargo, world leader in air freight transport, is strengthening its market position thanks to an innovative competitive intelligence strategy. With a network of 295 destinations in 110 countries, the airline is relying on Akio Insights to monitor its competitors’ activity in real time and optimise its decision-making. This initiative is part of a wider approach to digital transformation and the continuous improvement of market knowledge, illustrating the group’s commitment to remaining at the forefront of innovation in the air freight sector.


The Air France KLM Group has had a partnership with AKIO for several years. The emblematic company uses Akio Insights as part of an e-reputation and benchmarking project for the Customer Insights department. The added value of this tool, for optimising decision-making processes and continuously improving customer satisfaction, has convinced the Air France Cargo division to adopt its use.


Thanks to its expertise, particularly in the air transport sector, Akio Insights has built up an ongoing benchmark covering some thirty airlines specialising in freight transport, particularly those operating jumbo jets, to enable an in-depth analysis of the practices of Air France Cargo’s competitors in the air freight sector.

The results of this benchmark are regularly compiled in a detailed newsletter, widely distributed within the Air France group to over 600 recipients, and will be used to guide strategic decision-making in the years to come. This internal communication enables the various teams to be made aware of market dynamics and opportunities for improvement.
